Changing Your Windows Explorer Default View
- Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop or from your Start/Programs menu or open Windows Explorer.
- If you choose to use Windows Explorer, navigate to your My Computer folder in Windows Explorer and click on it to view its content.
- Set the view the your viewing preference. You may use the View drop-down menu at the very top of your Windows Explorer window, or the drop-down Views icon/button in your toolbar. Once you get the drop-down menu, you will be able to choose from Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons, List, and Details. Note: Choosing "Details" will show the most information.
- Once you have this one folder the way you like it, click on the Tools menu item at the very top of your Windows Explorer.
- Click Folder Options.
- Click the View tab and at the top
- Click the Apply to All Folders button.
- Windows shows a dialog box that says:
"Set all the folders on your computer to match the current folder's view settings (except for toolbars and folder tasks)? Changes will occur the next time you open them."
Click Yes to make Windows apply the view changes.
If you wish to return to how Windows looked when it was installed, simply click the Reset all Folders button. |
